Obituary for Avis Monteith Long
Mrs. Avis Monteith Long, 88, went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Laurel Baye Healthcare of Williston SC.
Mrs. Avis was born on May 20, 1929 in Glenville NC. She was a daughter of the late Linville Monteith and Ellen Bryson Monteith. She was a member of the Barnwell Presbyterian Church and was a homemaker. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great-grandmother. She will be miss by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 in the Barnwell Presbyterian Church at 2:00Pm with Rev. David Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell Co. Memory Gardens on Reynolds Rd. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
Survivors include 5 children, Pat (Cheryl) Long of Blackville, Ann (Wilt) Lee of Olar, Sid (Tina) Long of North Augusta, Joe Long of Hilda and Jeanne (Larry) Wedincamp of Baxley Georgia; sisters, Doris Sharpton of Albuquerque NM and June Manos of Lake Worth FL.; fifteen grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Long, siblings, Denver Monteith, Homer Monteith and Agnes Followell.
