Obituary for Barbara Holmes Harrell
Barbara Holmes Harrell, 72, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 29th, 2023.
Barbara was born in Saluda County, SC to the late David and Frances Johnson Holmes. She received her Undergraduate and Masters Degrees from Winthrop University. She retired as a teacher from Blackville Hilda Schools where she worked for 30 years, and at JDA where she worked for 4 years. She was a faithful member of Hagood Ave. Baptist Church.
Survivors include her loving and faithful husband, Jerry Harrell; god-daughter Merchell (Billy) Williams; and grandchildren, Britney and Taylor Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024 at the Red Door Hagood Ave. Baptist Church (Old Barnwell Presbyterian Church) on the corner of Franklin and Washington Street, with Rev. Brandon Sandifer officiating. Burial will follow in the Double Pond Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jimmy Padgett, Marshall Smith, Billy Williams, Robby Sanders, Jared Thrasher, and Webb Boleman.
