Obituary for Ben F Johnson, Sr.
Benjamin Franklin (Ben) Johnson Sr., 78, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at University Hospital.
Ben was born in Hampton County on June 21, 1938 and was a son of the late Geddis and Ellen Keefe Johnson. He was a retired E&I mechanic with the Savannah River Site, a member of Calvary Baptist Church and an avid fisherman. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 3 pm in Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Deer and Rev. Robert Altman officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery at the airport. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 6-8 pm at Mole Funeral Home.
Survivors include his loving wife, Carolyn Fennell Johnson of Snelling; sons, Benjamin F. (Beverlee) Johnson Jr. of Snelling and Edgar McCoy (Crystal Bodiford) Johnson of Barnwell; brother, Raymond (Debra) Johnson of Barnwell; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister Margie J. Cook.
