Obituary for Bennie Mae Amick
Bennie Mae Still Amick, 78, passed away on July 31st, 2024. She was born in Barnwell, SC on December 29th, 1945 to the late Bennie Still and Ila Mae Grubbs Still.
Bennie Mae loved her family and devoted most of her time to them, especially her grandsons. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church, where she kept the nursery for many years. Her love for babies and children was always evident. She was a graduate of Blackville-Hilda High School, class of 1964.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Amick Hair; grandsons Will Hair and Mason Hair; and sister, Dolly Still (Roadell Bodiford.)
She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Cecil Amick; sisters Jeanette Bessinger and Nita Bessinger; as well as her niece, Wendy Bessinger Sanders.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Mole Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow on Sunday, August 4th, 2024 at 6:00 PM at Unity Baptist Church in Blackville, SC, with graveside to follow in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery. Rev. John Jerkins will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jeb Lott, Justin Lott, Jasper Lott, Don Amick, Seth Pritchard, and TBone Jerkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jamie Sanders, Preston Gunnells, Josiah Lott, and Joseph Lott.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research for cancer.
