Obituary for Betty "Marlene" Renew Holden
Betty "Marlene" Renew Holden, 73, of Barnwell, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Marlene was born in Barnwell County on March 7, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Crimmins and Carrie Beasley Renew. Marlene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked as a supervisor for K Manufacturing in Barnwell. In 1988, she and Carlisle relocated to Summerton SC where they owned a marina and restaurant. After returning to Barnwell in 2000, she worked for Wal-mart until her retirement. Survivors include her husband, Arthur Carlisle Holden; son, Johnny (Renee) Holden; daughter, Deborah G. Baker; granddaughters, Deborah Nichole Pierce and Brittany Sloan Holden and great grandson, Bryan Nickolas Pierce. She was predeceased by brothers, Harry, Ernest, Wallace, Willie, Odell, Bobby and Shellie Renew and a sister, Lois Renew Carson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November1, 2014, at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Rochelle and Rev. Marshall Still officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Rd. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 608 pm at Mole Funeral Home.
