Betty Pearson Gunter, 92, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at her daughter’s home in Columbia SC.
Mrs. Betty was born in Portsmouth Ohio on September 29, 1926 and was a daughter of the late Earl Monroe Pearson Sr. and Hilda Castle Bryant. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl Arthur Gunter. He was a member of Reedy Branch Baptist Church for 30 years.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 11 am at the Barnwell Co. Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Harry Warren officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be may to Reedy Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Maureena G. (Dennis) Johnsey of Columbia SC and son, Johnnie (Brenda) Whittle of Belvedere SC; grandchildren, Angelique Johnsey, Charles Whittle, Johnathan Whittle, Tim Whittle, Vicky Whittle and Denise Whittle; nieces, Debra Pearson Smoak, Diane P. (Amos) Snyder and L.P. (Tanya) Pearson. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Lenton and Earl Pearson.
