Obituary for Charlotte Spence Baxley
On April 2, 2017, heaven gained a new resident after Charlotte lost her battle with Parkinson’s. She reaped her joy from helping others as anyone who knew her could attest. The family appreciates the things that her friends have done for them and feel greatly blessed by their acts of kindness and visits. Also, Halcyon Hospice for their wonderful care and support. No formal service will be held until her ashes are scattered at Edisto Beach. The family will gather at that time and share their memories of her and say their goodbyes in their own way. She was the daughter of the late J.F. and Edith Bywaters Spence. She is survived by her spouse of 55 years, Kenny Baxley, daughters: Lisa B. Gleaton, Suzanne B. Still, and Kimberly (Gene) Fickling, grandchildren: Tyler Gleaton, Ridge Gleaton, Aubree Still, Turner Ashby Fickling, Cade Still, and Jeb Fickling, great granddaughter: Beckleigh Still, sister: Rita S. (Eddie) Haskins, and brother Dennis (Teresa) Spence. Donations in her memory can be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
