Obituary for Doris Ready Hiers
Doris Ready Hiers, 94, passed away on Sunday, August 29,2021 at the Pruitt Health Barnwell surrounded by her loving family.
Miss Doris was born in Aiken County on June 19,1927 and was a daughter of the late Solomon and Donie Still Ready. She was the wife of the late Herman Hiers. She had worked in her husband’s company Hiers Electric, and as a substitute teacher at Barnwell High School. She was a very faithful member of the Barnwell First Baptist Church. She was known for sending cards to people for birthdays, sympathy, and all occasions. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. Miss Doris will be miss by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 3 pm in the Barnwell First Baptist Church with Dr. Bart Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell Co. Memory Gardens Cemetery on Reynolds Rd. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Barnwell First Baptist Church or The Gideons International, Barnwell Camp, PO Box 86, Williston, SC 29853.
Survivors include, her son Terry L. (Connie) Hiers of Barnwell SC; her daughters, Gail Hiers Stroth of Blackville and Karen Hiers (Nicky) Still of Barnwell; grandchildren, Justin Lemon, Haley Hiers (Michael) Richardson, Nick Still, Asa Still and Jack Stroh; great grandchildren, CharleeGrace, Hiersley and Lucy Beth Richardson, Kingston Lemon, Wilder Still and Riley Rose Still.
