Obituary for Elizabeth Axford McMillan
Elizabeth Axford McMillan, 85, passed away on September 18, 2014. She was born on February 25, 1929 in Newark, New Jersey, to Gilbert Huey and Helen Mary Axford. She was a long-time resident of Barnwell, South Carolina, and worked for many years at the Savannah River Site, where she retired in 1989. She and her husband, Bill, were members of the Barnwell Presbyterian Church since 1953, where she sang faithfully in the church choir for over 50 years. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 67 years, William Gooding McMillan; daughter, Mary Elisa Moskovitz of Columbia, South Carolina; son, William Gooding McMillan, Jr. and his wife, Kathryn Elaine McMillan of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; grandson, Ryan Gooding McMillan, his wife, Sarah Gray McMillan and daughter Coraline Peace McMillan of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and grandson, Steven Lyle McMillan of Nashville, Tennessee. Services will be held at Barnwell Presbyterian Church, at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 21, and will be preceded at 2:00 PM by Receiving of Friends. Interment will be held at the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery following the services. Mole Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
