Obituary for Elizabeth Bonds Bodiford
Elizabeth Bonds Bodiford, 100, widow of Fred F. Bodiford passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday afternoon, January 13, 2016. Mrs. Bodiford, born in Barnwell County on April 22, 1915, was the daughter of the late Goley Anderson and Essie Branch Bonds. She worked as an engraver in the Graniteville area before being employed with Amerotron for 18 years. A member of Hagood Avenue Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school for many years and was a faithful member of the Corene Cheek Sunday School Class. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose greatest passions related to family were cooking, celebrating holidays, and attending family reunions. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 2:00 PM at the Hagood Avenue Baptist Church with Reverend Ken Catoe officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery at the airport. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Mole Funeral Home. Survivors include daughters, Ann Towne and Linda Zionkowski; grandson Rick Holcombe; and great grandson Cody Holcombe. Besides her loving husband, she was predeceased by son-in-laws Edward Towne and Pete Zionkowski, along with brothers Frank, Troy, J.W., and Walter Bonds; sisters Ruby O'Quinn, Berta McCravy, Dalice Mae Birt, Zelma Still, and Mildred Delk. The family would like to express special thanks to Halcyon Hospice and nurse Rebecca Jones, along with devoted caregivers Evelyn Ford, Gloria Addison, Florie James, and Debra Johnson.
