Ellen Atkinson Spitzer, 83, passed away at her home on January 25th, 2026 surrounded by family. She was born on January 30th, 1942 in Barnwell, SC to the late Joseph Beasley and Ruby Prince Beasley.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Hagood Baptist Church in Barnwell, SC. She loved taking care of her family and cooking meals for them. She also enjoyed sewing, making clothes and quilts. She loved to read, and most of all loved to have get togethers with her family and spending quality time with everybody.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Atkinson (Mark) Beasley of Barnwell, SC, and Betty Grubbs of Barnwell, SC; grandchildren Caleigh Williams, Frampie Beasley, Lenzie Beasley (Shawn) Brant, Jacob Mark Beasley, Whitney Grubbs, Amber Grubbs (Jacob) Bokman, Noah (Haley Garvin) Still, and Abigail Montgomery; 16 great-grandchildren; as well as her sister, Brenda McLaughlin.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd Atkinson and George Spitzer; as well as her brothers, Pete Beasley, PeeWee Beasley, and Jack Beasley.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28th, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Mole Funeral Home, with funeral services following in the Mole Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM. Rev. Ken Catoe will be officiating. Graveside services will follow the funeral at the Barnwell County Memorial (Airport) Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Noah Still, Mark Beasley, Shawn Brant, Brandon Beasley, Jacob Bokman, and Barry Beasley.
