Obituary for Elma Ruth Ayer Bodiford
Williston SC Mrs. Elma Ruth Ayer Bodiford,94, passed away at her home on Saturday March 15, 2014. Mrs. Bodiford was born on January 6,1920 in Bamberg County. She was the daughter of the late Green and Madeline Hiers Ayer. She was the wife of the late McLaurin "Mack" Bodiford. She was homemaker and member of the Long Branch Baptist Church. Mrs. Elma Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 17,2014 at 11:00 am in the Long Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Bert Baynham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Sunday at Mole Funeral Home. The family suggest in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to: Long Branch Baptist Church, 3223 Hwy 37, Williston SC 29853; Hospice Care of Tri-County, 2130 Woodside Executive Court, Bldg C, Aiken SC 29803 or Aiken County Habitat for Humanity, PO Box 3323, Aiken SC 29802. Survivors include daughters, Sybile Lain of Barnwell SC, Nellie Rosier of Barnwell SC, Dianne Barber of Boone NC and Arie Murphy of Williston SC; sons, Jacky Bodiford of Williston SC, James Bodiford of Lexington SC, Ray Bodiford of Williston, SC, Donnie Bodiford of Barnwell, SC, Roy Bodiford of Siler City NC; sisters, Marry Eleanor Brant of Olar SC, Nina Mitchum of Olar, SC and Nellie Marie Fisher of Charleston SC; brothers, Sidney Ayer of Bamberg and Lewis Martin Ayer of Ulmer, SC; 21 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Mrs. Bodiford was also predeceased by a son, McGee Bodiford, grandson, Barry Lain, granddaughter, Lynn Ritchie and sisters Juanita Carroll and Lulu Morris.
