Obituary for Eugene Pershing Singleton
Eugene P. “Gene” Singleton,99, went to be with his Lord on January 12,2021at his home.
Born in Horry County on December 2,1921 he was the son of the late Berry and Edna Hardy Singleton. He was retired Construction Supervisor with the Savannah River Plant. He was a US Navy WW11 Veteran. He was the oldest Charter Member of Hagood Ave. Baptist Church. He was a member of Harmony Masonic Lodge #17. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be deeply missed by is family and friends.
A graveside service will be held of Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2pm at Barnwell County Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road, with Dr. Ken Catoe officiating with Masonic Rites accorded.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Sewell Singleton; daughters Nancy (Melvin) Poore of Anderson, Judy(Donald(deceased)Burton of Inman, SC and Cathy (Jeff) Still of Myrtle Beach SC; grandchildren, Joey Eugene (Susan) Still of Goose Creek SC, Ansley (Monty) Morrow of Myrtle Beach SC, Brad (Renee) Poore of Anderson SC, Libby Poore Bonds of Anderson SC, Sherry (Michael) Holt of Hartsville SC, Donyelle (Walt) Wilkins of Greenville SC , children by blended marriage, Kim (John) Rutland of Barnwell SC, Craig (Trina) Wix of Barnwell SC and Karen Jeffers of Wisconsin; Grandchildren, Jason (Shelli) Rutland of Anderson SC, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Rutland of Anderson SC, Chloe and Charlee Wix of Barnwell SC, Michael (Tammy) Jeffers of Wisconsin, and Kacy Sewell of Wisconsin. He was predeceased by his first loving wife Lee Anne Singleton and great granddaughter, Caroline Elizabeth Bonds.
