Obituary for Frances Adams Witt
Barnwell, SC Frances Adams Witt of Barnwell, SC passed away at her home on December 15, 2013. Born on July 20, 1924, in Saluda, SC, she was the daughter of the late Goodman and Callie Cox Adams and was married to the late Everett Witt for 64 ½ years before his death in 2010. She was a devout Christian and a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, "Granny", and great grandmother. She was always cooking, gardening, canning and sharing with her friends and family. As co-owner of Witt's Small Engines, she assisted her husband in the business for over 20 years. Frances never met a stranger and always had a cheerful attitude whether waiting on someone at the shop or simply chatting in the aisle and giving out a favorite recipe at the supermarket. Survivors include a son Raymond Witt of Seneca SC; a daughter, Marie (Jerry) Morris of Barnwell SC; grandsons, Brad ( Sadie) Morris of St. Marys, GA, and Jerry Ray (Teresa) Witt of Mountain Rest, SC; great-granddaughters, Finley and Riley Morris and Regina and Bristal Witt; a number of nieces and nephews and five sisters in law (her late husband's sisters). She was predeceased by si9sters, Louise Edwards and Juanita Edwards; brothers, Earl, Clarence and Raymond Adams. Heartfelt thanks and love go to the "angel" sent several years ago, Mary Belle Gillam, who fondly referred to Frances as "my little woman" and without a doubt loved her as family. Also, love and blessings go to Linda Ray for all her loving care. The family sends special thanks to Regency Hospice of Orangeburg for their inspiration and special care. Funeral services will be held at Mole Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 2:00 pm with visitation from 1-2 pm. Burial will follow in the Barnwell Co. Memory Gardens on Reynolds Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Regency Hospice, 1890 Saint Matthews Rd., Orangeburg, SC. 29110.
