Frances Halford DuRant, 90, of Barnwell passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family. She was born on April 24th, 1933 to Bellinger Halford and Nettie Bell Morris Halford in the Long Branch Community of Barnwell County. She was a proud member of the Barnwell High School Graduating Class of 1952.
She worked as a Department of Social Services Administrative Assistant for 32 years, as well as cared for sickly family members, and was a homemaker. She was married to David DuRant for 62 years before his passing. She was a member of Barnwell FBC and Connor SS class, and she had a passion for helping the sick and hurting.
Her hobbies included sewing, shopping, talking, and having cake and coffee with friends.
She is survived by her son David DuRant III of Barnwell, daughter Anne (Keith) Maddox of Spartanburg, grandson Andrew Keith (Michele) Maddox of Inman, as well as great grandchildren Brodie Maddox and Anslie Maddox.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David G. DuRant Jr., brothers McLeod Halford and Russell Halford, and sister Elma Wood.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 7th, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Mole Funeral Home, with funeral services at 3:00 PM in the Mole Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside will be held at the Barnwell County Memorial (Airport) Cemetery.
