Obituary for Francis Leo Platts
Francis Leo Platts, 79, passed away in Aiken, SC on August 2nd, 2023. He was born on January 13th, 1944 in Charleston, SC to the late Francis and Mary Hodge Platts.
He was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. He enjoyed working with his hands, wood working, metal working, and especially enjoyed working on golf carts. He liked to fish and spend time at Santee on the lake, and down on the Savannah River. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandkids.
He is survived by his son, Drew Leo (Missy) Platts of Barnwell, SC; grandchildren Albany Platts and Drew (DJ) Platts; brother Gary Wayne Platts of Charleston, SC; long-time girlfriend Lydia Lambert and her children, Tony Lambert and Tommy Lambert.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Altha Sanders Platts; brothers Lemar Platts and Homer Platts; sisters Elizabeth P. Drennon, Laura Ann P. Wilson, and Nora P. Gore.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 5th, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Mole Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, August 6th, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Long Branch Baptist Church, with graveside to follow at Mt. Lebanon Christian Church Cemetery. Rev. Bert Baynham will be officiating.
