Gary O. Kemmerlin, 71, passed away on March 2nd, 2026. He was born on September 12th, 1954 in St. George, SC to the late Otis R. Kemmerlin and Mildred Troutman Kemmerlin.
Gary was a dedicated Member of Hilda First Baptist Church as well as First Baptist Children's Church. He also volunteered his time and sponsorship of the Hilda's Hometown Festival every year. Gary was a member of the Marines and National Guard for 10+ years.
He is survived by his daughters, Crystal Moore and Amy (Damien) Mikesell; son Patrick (Margie) Kemmerlin; grandsons Seth Lee Moore and Lewis Mikesell; granddaughter Crystina Moore. He is also survived by Dennis (Peggy) Kemmerlin; sisters Tammy (Charlie) Platt and Ann (Paul) Kemmerlin; brother-in-law Philip (Karen) Black; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved and cared for him very much.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Kemmerlin; as well as his brother Gregory Kemmerlin.
His hobbies were going to the flea market and auctions on Saturday and Sunday. His passions in life were The Lord, family and friends, and making crosses and Christian items to hand out. He was also a vivid Clemson Tiger’s fan and enjoyed talking about them and other sports to everyone. He always put God, family, and friends first beyond anything else, and would always put others before himself. He will be greatly loved and missed by his family and friends.
Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Hilda, SC on Wednesday, March 11th, 2026 at 12:00 PM.
Services will be affiliated by Pastor Christopher Roberts of the First Baptist Church of Hilda.
