Obituary for Gene Autry Bessinger
Gene Autry Bessinger,79, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Gene Autry was born in Bamberg County on November 12, 1940 and was a son of the late William and Bertha H. Bessinger. He retired as a carpenter at the Savannah River Site. He was a member of Mount Lebanon Christian Church and loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Gene was a loving husband a, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday August 30, 2020 at 3 pm in the Mount Lebanon Christian Church with Rev. Rommie Martin and Rev Farrell Ray officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 6-8 pm at Mole Funeral Home. Social distancing will be observed and mask encouraged at both services and visitation.
Survivors include his loving wife Irene Still Bessinger of Barnwell SC; sons, Timmy (Cindy) Bessinger of Barnwell SC, Eddie Bessinger of Barnwell SC, and Jeremey (Heather) Bessinger of Sycamore SC; daughters, Cynthia (John) Owens of Barnwell SC and Betty Ruth (Curtis) Hogg of Ulmer SC; brothers James (Cheryl) Bessinger of Barnwell SC and Jimmy (Debra) Bessinger of Barnwell SC; sister, Linda Bessinger Baxley of Barnwell SC and Jeanette Bssinger Brant of Barnwell SC; grandchildren, Jason, Caleb, Christopher, Niki, Jamie, Kaitlin, Kourtni, Curt, Crystal, Myles, Jeremey Allen, Wylder and Violet; great grandchildren, Lauren, Scarlett, Chandler, River, Addy, Jayden, Eli, Riley, Dre, Waylon, Drake, and Amelia. He was predeceased by his brothers, John (Bubba) Bessinger, sisters, Evelyn Bessinger Cook and Willie Jean Bessinger Freeman.
