Obituary for Gertrude "Gertie" Still
Gertrude "Gertie" Still, 85, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 in the Pruitt Health Nursing Home. Miss Gertie was born on June 11, 1929 in Barnwell County. She was the daughter of the late Bunyan and Lizzie Dyches Still. She was predeceased by her husband George Marcus Still. She was a member of Reedy Branch Baptist Church and a homemaker. Gertie was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and aunt and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11 am at Reedy Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Jeffery Ray officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Mole Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6-8 pm. Survivors include her son, Larry (Alice "Sissy") Still of Barnwell; daughters, Ann (Ricky) Bonnette of Barnwell and Margaret Still Phillips of Denmark; brothers, Bobby (Sara) Still of Williston Fla and Alvin (Jeanette) Still of Barnwell; sisters, Mamie Lee Sanders of Barnwell and Nita Zissette of Olar; eight grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren; special friend Joe Sanders of Barnwell. She was also predeceased by a son Robert Still and brothers, James, Dodson, Gross Lee, Russell and Lennie Still
