Obituary for Gloria Jean Gunnells

Gloria Jean “Jeannie Bug” Gunnells, 61, passed away at home on April 21st, 2024. She was born on March 9th, 1963 in Barnwell, SC to the late Loren E. Tracey and Mary Frankie Bryant Black.

Jeannie was a loving, compassionate, understanding, and over-protective Momma. She was an adoring wife, and she and her sisters were the epitome of sisterhood. She loved many things in her life, including being on the water, whether it be a lake, pond, or beach. She loved lighthouses and her fur-babies, was a crafting-queen, a frequent Huddle House visitor, and an amazing gift giver. She had a heart of gold, and never met a stranger. She was a sassy, loving woman and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Dannie Gunnells; daughter Mary Elizabeth (Missy) Redding (Scottie); sons Frankie Still and Dan Gunnells Jr. (Kim); sisters Ruth Gunnells (Dean), Donna Sue Eichberg and Carolyn Hunt (Chance); grandchildren Jae Nettles, Zac Bradley, Tezzie Priester, Bella Wilson, Ethan Joyner, Ava Gunnells, Lindsey Gunnells, Summer Gunnells, and Kimberly Gunnells.

She is preceded in death by her parents Loren E. Tracey, Mary Franklin Bryant Black, and Emmet Black; son A.J. Still; and her brother Ralph E. Black III (Joy).

A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 24th, 2024 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Mole Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 25th, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Timothy Gunnells officiating. Pallbearers will be Emmet Black, Joey Gunnells, Jeramy Gunnells, Mark Correll, and Scottie Redding.
