Obituary for Harriet Still Collins
Funeral services for Susan Harriet (Pete) Still Collins, 84, of Blackville SC. will be held at 3 pm Saturday, February 8, 2020 in the Hilda First Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery (Airport) next to the husband of her youth, William Turner. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 6-8pm at Mole Funeral Home.
Born in the Hilda area, she was the daughter of the late Luther Levant and Elizabeth “Lizzie”Hair Still. Mrs. Harriet went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 surrounded by her children and family.
She was a Sunday school teacher and substitute pianist at Ashleigh Baptist Church for many years. She retired from Shuron Textron.
She is survived by her husband Evron Collins, her children, Neal (Dot) Miles, Elaine Miles Turner, JoAnne Miles, Norma Jean Miles (Alan) Owens, and Ken Miles,; step children William Ray Turner, Ronnie Turner, Linda Collins (George) Wells and Karen Collins (Andy) Bolen and adopted daughter, Jo Ann Williams; sisters, Rosa Lee Still Owens and Elloree Still Ussery; 20 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter Susan Elizabeth Miles, a step daughter Donna Jean Turner Windham, her parents; husbands, Edgar Miles, William Turner and Willie “PaPa) Still; brothers, Guy Still, Pollen Still, Luther Still and Check Still; sisters, Ola Mae Still Hutto, Jackie Still Hightower, Sara Still Boyd.
