Harry Brown Kennedy, Sr., 99, passed away on December 26th, 2025. He was born on August 11th, 1926 in Barnwell, SC to the late R.A. Kennedy and Annie Zorn Kennedy. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he received many awards, including the Purple Heart. He loved camping, reading, traveling, and doing crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his children, Harry Kennedy, Jr. of Barnwell, SC, and Helen Kennedy of Barnwell, SC; grandchildren Bubba (Kat) Kennedy, Joseph Kennedy, Savannah Padgett (Andrew) Barker; six great-grandchildren; as well as one great-great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Florence Kennedy; his son, Paul Kennedy; granddaughter Wendy Creech; grandson Richard Padgett; as well as many brothers and sisters.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30th, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, with funeral services following in the church at 2:00 PM. Rev. Mark Epperson will be officiating. Graveside will be held following the service at the Barnwell County Memorial (Airport) Cemetery.
