Obituary for Hazel Dodson Powell
Mrs. Hazel Dodson Powell, 82, peacefully went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at her home.
Mrs. Hazel was born on October 14, 1936 in Rosman NC, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Denton Aiken Dodson. She retired from the Milliken Corp. with 35 years’ service. She was a member of the Kline Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11 AM in the Kline Baptist Church with Dr. Finley Limehouse officiating. Burial will follow in the Kline Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services in the church. The family suggest in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Hope for the World PO Box 835, Hartwell Georgia, 30643 or the Kline Baptist Church, 445 Railroad Ave., Barnwell SC 29812
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Wendell M. Powell of Kline SC; son, Rodney (Melanie) Powell of Luray SC; daughters, Dianne (Chuck) Bell of Williston SC and Debbie (Riley) Shelton of Hartwell Ga.; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister Helen Stansel.
