Helen Still Bates, 94, passed away January 1, 2026, in Dunwoody, GA. Helen was the daughter of the late Coye and Goldie Still and grew up in Barnwell, SC.
Helen graduated from North Greenville College and had a career in the beauty industry. Helen was a strong woman of faith with a servant’s heart. She served in various missions at First United Methodist Church in Marietta, GA. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Helen is survived by her son, Coye Mann (Karen) of Sandy Springs, GA: grandchildren, McKenzie Mann, Greg Gaines (Lucy), Cindy Nims (Michael); her great grandchildren, Mary Nims and Gregory Gaines, and her sister, Merolyn McGee. She is also survived by her stepchildren; Lee Bates (Ginny), Jerry Bates and Laura Dunn (Phillip) and their families.
She was predeceased by her husband Bill Bates, her daughter Mary Mann Derusso; her son, Robert “Bob” Mann; her brother, Coye Still, Jr. and stepdaughter Mary Bates.
A private family graveside service will be held Monday, January 5, 2026, at Friendship Baptist Church, Barnwell, SC.
