Obituary for Henry Dean "Don" McAllister, Sr.
Henry Dean "Don "McAllister Sr., 90, passed away on January 30,2014 at the home of his loving son, Henry D. McAllister Jr. He was born in Fort Payne Alabama on August 2, 1923, he was the son of the late R. Frank McAllister Sir and Nancy Dean McAllister. He served his country during WWII first in the Army Air Corp and the with the Armored Division "Hell on Wheels" stationed in Europe. He moved his family to Barnwell in 1953 and retired from EI DuPont Savannah River Plant as a reactor operator after 30 years. In addition to his son, Mr. McAllister is survived by the Mother of his son, Ms. Lee Dell Wilks Draughon. He is predeceased by sisters, Hazel M. Everett, Clara M. Moore, Virginia M. Frasier and brothers, R. Frank McAllister Jr., Robert Earl "Bud" McAllister and Glen L. McAllister. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Saturday in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery by the airport with Rev. David Turner officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:45 until 10:45 am at Mole Funeral Home.
