Obituary for Herman Sanders, Jr.
Herman Sanders, Jr., beloved husband of Martha Sue Morris Sanders, passed away on April 9, 2015 after a brief illness. He was born in Olar, SC on December 10, 1922 and was the son of Annette Moody Kearse and Herman Sanders, Sr. He was a veteran of the US ARMY during WWII and served as a member of the 4th Infantry Division. He lived in Barnwell, SC a large portion of his life and has called Cayce, SC home for the last 8 years. He was a member of State Street Baptist Church in Cayce, SC and Harmony Lodge #17 in Barnwell, SC. Survivors include his wife of 72 years Martha Sue Morris Sanders, one son, Kenneth Sanders (Geraldine), he was predeceased by on daughter, Beverly Sanders Gauche (Paul), 4 grandchildren, Monica Sanders O'Cain (Laird), Kimberly Sanders Christ (Rob), Paul Gauche, Jr. (Melissa) and Allison Gauche, and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at State Street Baptist Church, 1420 State St., Cayce, SC at 3:00PM Sunday, April 12, 2015. The Fellowship Men's Sunday Schools Class will be honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in Starr Cemetery, Olar, SC. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu flowers memorials may be made to State Street Baptist Church, Elevator Fund, 1420 State Street, Cayce, SC 29033 or a charity of one's choice.
