Obituary for Holly McDonald Rimes

Holly McDonald Rimes, 57, passed away on November 16th, 2022. She was born on January 4th, 1965, to Ernest Crawford McDonald and the late Carmen Thompson McDonald. She was the founder of Christmas in the Country and was a member of Kline Baptist Church.  Holly was a loving wife and mother who never met a stranger and she always put others before herself. She spent her life helping disabled children, wounded warriors, and anybody with a broken wing. A friend once said she was a lot like Jesus, "Jesus was put here to give, and Holly lived a lot like that, her life was filled with giving for the sake of helping others."

To know her was to love her and she will be dearly missed.

2nd Corinthians 6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver

Holly is survived by her husband, Paul Randall Rimes; son Tyler McDonald Rimes of Kline, SC; daughters Krysten (Tyler) Rimes Gleaton of Barnwell, SC, and Cayley Rimes of Barnwell, SC; brothers David (Lisa) McDonald of Dalton, GA, Zack (Melissa) McDonald of Irwin, Iowa, and Crawford (Shujuan) McDonald of Athens, GA; aunt Sarah Fowke; grandchildren Jaclynne Rimes, Anna Raye Rimes, Cayden Rimes, and Charlotte Gleaton; father, Ernest Crawford McDonald, mother-in-law Beverly Rimes; as well as her fur-babies Budley, Duke, Leo, Daisy, and Bill.

She is preceded in death by her stepmother, Ann McDonald; uncle Ben Fowke; and father-in-law Bob Rimes.

A visitation will be held Sunday, November 20th, 2022, at 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Mole Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, November 21st, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Kline Baptist Church with graveside to follow. Rev. Fred Orr and Pastor Finley Limehouse will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the MS Society.
