Obituary for Hugh C Strother
Hugh C. Strother, 90, passed away on May 29, 2022 at his home in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Hugh was born on February 21, 1932 in Plum Branch, SC to the late James Miller and Myrtle White Strother. Hugh was retired from the Army National Guard and as a Supervisor and E&I Mechanic with The Savannah River Plant. He was a member of the Sea Coast Church in Charleston, SC, A 40 year member of the Barnwell Masonic Harmony Lodge, El Bab Shiners Club, and the Charleston Elks Lodge 242.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June3, 2022 in the Mole Funeral Home Chapel in Barnwell, SC at 11:00AM, with Rev. Scott Wachter officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell United Methodists Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites to follow. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at Mole Funeral Home. Memorial may be made to the, Barnwell United Methodist Church, 236 Main St., Barnwell, SC or the Charleston Elks Lodge 242 Elks Veteran Services, 1113 Sam Rittenburg Blvd, Charleston, SC 29407.
Hugh is survived by his former wife, Zilliah Sanders Strother of Barnwell, son Alan Strother of Brunson, daughter, Nancy Strother “Charles V.” Leonard of Charleston, Angela Strother of Greenville, SC, step grand children Connor “Lucy” Hutto and Cody Hutto, brothers Earl D. “Louise” Strother of Graniteville, Robert G. Strother of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by a sister Dorothy Cooper.
