Obituary for Ibria "Buster" Blackwood Lawrimore
Ibria Blackwood “Buster” Lawrimore, 91, passed away on March 9, 2022 in Columbia, SC.
Buster was born on September 9, 1930. He graduated from Clemson University with a BS in Agriculture and became a 1st Lt. in the US Army stationed in Korea from March 1952 until December 1953. He was an active member of Hagood Avenue Baptist Church and became an Honorary Lifetime Deacon in October 2021. He was a retiree from DuPont Savannah River Site, a member of the Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief Team, a volunteer missionary to Romania as well as a frequent member of Hagood-Cleveland, TN mission team. He was known for his love of gardening, fishing, and travel as well as a member of the Hardee’s Men’s Coffee Club. He was an avid supporter of Clemson and Barnwell football, but Buster mainly will always be remembered as a man deeply devoted to his church and his Lord Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022, in Hagood Avenue Baptist Church at 3:00PM, with Rev. Ken Catoe and Rev. Roger Head officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00PM until the time of service. A family graveside service will be held on Monday in the Barnwell County Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mole Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Buster is survived by his loving wife, Bernice Hinson Lawrimore of the home. His children include, Jane (Stan) Sorey, Gatlinburg, TN, James (Eletha) Lawrimore, Barnwell, SC, John Lawrimore, Hickory, NC, Julia (Tad) Dickinson, Anderson, SC, Penny (Barry) Langford, Barnwell, SC, and Farron Hinson, Barnwell, SC, Grandchildren: Christopher Sorey, Adam Lawrimore, David Lawrimore, Joshua Lawrimore, Jacob Bouchillon, Angela Bouchillon, Eric Dickinson, Brantley Dickinson, Anderson Langford, and Bryson Langford. Great grandchildren, Nathan Lawrimore, Simon Lawrimore, Miles Lawrimore, Glenn Lawrimore, Rose Lawrimore and Tyler Langford. He was predeceased by his first wife, Glenette Sanders Lawrimore his daughter, Jill Bouchillon, who was married to Hal Bouchillon.
