Obituary for Irene Still Bessinger
Irene Still Bessinger, 81, went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Irene was born in Barnwell County on July 07, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Luther and Ida Mae Still. She was a graduate of Blackville High School and worked numerous years at Sunbeam in Denmark, SC and Shuron of Barnwell, SC before becoming a homemaker. She had a great love for her family. She embodied the best of her qualities of unconditional love, strength, faith and love for her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters, brothers & friends. To know her was to love her. She was a member of Mount Lebanon Christian Church and loved the outdoors, working in her flowers, sewing, fishing and spend time with her family. Irene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be he on Friday, April 05, 2024, at 1 pm at Mount Lebanon Christian Church with Rev. Rommie Martin, Rev. Ron Franklin, and Rev. Timmy Gunnells will be officiating. A burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday April 04, 2024, from 6-8 pm at Mole Funeral Home.
Survivors include her sons: Timmy (Cindy) Bessinger of Barnwell SC, Eddie Bessinger (Renee White) of Barnwell SC, and Jeremey (Heather) Bessinger of Sycamore SC; daughters, Cynthia (John) Owens of Barnwell SC and Betty Ruth (Curtis) Hogg of Ulmer SC; brother Ruby Still of Barnwell SC, sisters Becky Wall,, Martha Sanders, Linda Still & Katherine Still, all of Barnwell, SC.
Grandchildren, Jason Bessinger, Caleb Bessinger, Christopher (Natassa) Bessinger, Niki (Paul) Shirey, Jamie (Meagan) Chavis, Kaitlin Owens (Hawkins) Kourtni Owens (Dan), Curt (Fallon) Hogg, Crystal (Josh) Delk, Myles Bessinger, Jeremey Allen Bessinger, Wylder Bessinger, Violet Bessinger, Ivy Bessinger & Gentry Bessinger
Great grandchildren, Lauren Murphy, Scarlet Bessinger, Chandler Shirey, River Shirey, Addy Shirey, Jayden Chavis, Eli Chavis, Riley Chavis, Dre Sanders, Waylon Hogg, Drake Delk, and Amelia Delk.
She was pre-deceased in death by her husband, Gene Autry Bessinger, her father Luther Still, mother Ida Mae Still, brother CB Still, sisters Frances Zorn and Mary Ellen Still, as well as her brother, Monroe Still.
