Obituary for Jack E Peterson
Jack E. Peterson, 76, passed away on Wednesday, September 9,2015. Jack was born in Wilmington NC on April 9,1939 and was a son of the late Ray Peterson and Christine Henniker Peterson Young. He was a graduate of The University of South Carolina and a member of the Barnwell First Baptist Church. He was a Certified Public Accountant holding licenses in both South Carolina and North Carolina. He began his accounting practice in Barnwell SC in 1972. He was a member of Harmony Masonic Lodge #17, the Eastern Star, The Scottish Rite, York Rite, Omar Shrine Temple and charter member of the El Bab Shrine Club of Barnwell. Jack loved to tell a good joke. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Richardson and Rev. Mark Epperson officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell Co. Memorial Cemetery at the airport with masonic rites accorded. The family will greet friends after the services. Memorials may be made to the Shriners' Hospital for Crippled and Burned Children,176 Patriots Point Rd, Mt. Pleasant SC 29464 Atten. Stacy O'Brian , the elevator fund at Barnwell First Baptist Church,161 Allen St. Barnwell SC 29812. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Dye Peterson of Barnwell; son, Jack E. Peterson Jr. (Mary) of West Columbia SC; daughter, Penney Peterson of Columbia; brother, James R. Peterson (Deane) Peterson of Goldsboro NC; grandchildren, Anna and J Peterson III.; his special friend "Quila" and granddogs, "Phoebe", "Zelda", and "Buddy". He was predeceased by a brother John S. Peterson and a half sister, Elizabeth Jane Peterson.
