Obituary for Jake Elbert Creech

Jake Elbert Creech, 81, went to be with the Lord on Saturday March 8th. Elbert was born on January 30, 1944 at his family home in Barnwell, SC to the late Clyde Samuel Creech and Lauvenia Still Creech.

He graduated from Blackville High School. He was a lifetime member of Friendship Baptist Church, where he had served as a Deacon. He worked at SRS and the Barnwell County Jail, but his passion was farming. From a young child, he farmed with his dad and granddad. He loved everything about farming, planting, harvesting, and especially the farmers market. He would sit there all summer. He was proud to live in Sleytown and named his farm Sleytown Farms. He was a fun loving, one of a kind guy, that loved to compliment the ladies.

Funeral Services will be held at 3pm on Thursday, March 13, at Friendship Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The Reverends Jim Parnell and Jeffery Ray are officiating.

Elbert is survived by his daughter Joy (Bill) Bonnette, grandchildren Raven Santino, Aaron Padillo, Caleb Padillo, and Mallory (Lane) Walling, Brittni (Rance) Slabaugh, Parker Bonnette, great grand children, Landon Santino, Payton Padillo, Sophia Santino, and Teigen Walling. He was preceded in death by his sister MaryBeth Creech.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friendship Baptist Church. Mole Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
