Obituary for James Brice Gray Sr.
James Brice Gray Sr., 90, passed away on February 18th, 2024 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 7th, 1933 in Bamberg, SC to the late John D. Gray and Beaulah Bodiford Snell. He attended Hilda First Baptist Church and proudly served in the United States Army. He was a mechanic and owned the old Phillips 66 Station in Barnwell. He also worked as a maintenance superintendent for the SC Housing Authority.
He is survived by his wife, Oretta D. Gray of Barnwell, SC; son, James B. (Alison) Gray Jr. of Barnwell, SC; brother Bobby (Anne) Gray of Jonesboro, TN; sister Delores (Dave) Rivers of Lancaster, SC; as well as 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shrildia Gray; son Tony Gray; daughter Shrildia Darlene Youmans; and grandson, Troy A. Gray.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 23rd, 2024 from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM at Mole Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM at Barnwell Memory Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Brian Gray and Rev. Bert Petty will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Animal Advocates of Barnwell.
