James Walter Bessinger, 82, went to be with his Lord on January 6,2021 at the Aiken Regional Medical Center.
James was born in Barnwell County on March 24, 1938 and was a son of the late William and Bertha Holst Bessinger. He was a truck driver, mechanic and farmer.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 13,2021 at 11:00AM in the Mount Lebanon Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Don McCormick officiating. Covid restrictions will be observed (Mask). The family will have a visitation after the services at the cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Williams Bessinger, daughters Jeannie (Mike) Pritchard and Jill (Nathan) Gunnells; step-sons, Chris Rutland and Randall Rutland; step- daughter, Julie Kinard; 8 grandchildren, 8 step -grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; brother, Jimmy (Debra) Bessinger and sisters, Linda Bessinger Baxley and Jeanette B. Brant.. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jeanette S. Bessinger, daughters, Sherry Bessinger and Wendy Sanders.,sisters, Willie Jean Freemen and Evelyn Cook; brothers, John "Bubba" Bessinger and Gene Autry Bessinger.
