Obituary for Janie Ruth Cushman Scott
Janie Ruth Cushman Scott, 79, passed away on April 10th, 2024. She was born in Aiken County, SC on December 6th, 1944 to the late George H. Cushman and Purnell Nancy Widener Cushman.
She was a very dedicated and long-time member of Faith Christian Church in Blackville, SC. She was very faithful and a devoted supporter of her church, where she served as the church pianist for years. She will be truly missed. Janie had been in Pruitt Health in Barnwell, SC for the past 5 years. She was the person who would try to do anything for you if she could and loved to help with anything. She will be missed by her church family so much, especially her friend Peggy Still, who was so faithful to visit her, take her to church, and eat out on Sundays.
Survivors include her son, Russell Wayne Wood of Gloverville, SC; sister Belle Vaughan of Centre, AL; aunt Ruby Mae Hill; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Cushman and Frances Lucille Cushman.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 21st, 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Mole Funeral Home is assisting the family.
