Obituary for Jay Rodney Beasley
Jay Rodney Beasley, 72, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 14, 2020 at his home.
Jay was born in Augusta Ga. on November 12,1947 and was a son of the late Lucius and Katherine Owens Beasley. He received a media specialist Masters Degree from the University of South Carolina and a music degree from the Baptist College of Charleston. He retired as a media specialist from the Allendale School District. He was the organist for the Barnwell First Baptist Church and had served as organist for many local churches in the area. Jay was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 2 pm in the Barnwell First Baptist Church with Rev. Bart Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memory Gardens on Reynolds Rd. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-7 pm at Mole Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Brian Wilson, Jeff Wood, Mike Close, Marcus Wilson, Kaleb Wilson and Blake Wilson.
Survivors include his loving wife, Janelle “Jan” Pruett Beasley of the home, daughters, Rachael (Stephen) Close of Graniteville and Claire Beasley of the home; brother, Lamar (Marsha) Beasley of Williston, three nieces, Ashley (Nat) Benson, Meredith (Brian) Wilson and Kelley (Jeff) Wood. He was predeceased by a son, Graham Beasley.
