Obituary for Jesse Lee
Jesse left for his heavenly home on March 14th, 2023 at the age of 84. Jesse was surrounded by his beloved wife and family.
He was born to James and Delilah Lee of Axson, Georgia on April 17th, 1938. Jesse was a member of Holy Apostles and of Barnwell, and he especially loved being a part of the church choir at a younger age. He was such a kind and thoughtful person and loved giving to those in need. His career was always in the grocery business. Jesse was a co-owner and operator of a Piggly Wiggly in Mt. Pleasant, SC, and also a licensed real-estate agent for Century 21. In 1998, Jesse met and married the love of his life in Barnwell, SC, Marie Dunbar Lee.
He is survived by his wife, Marie, and stepchildren David (Margaret), Suzanne, and Jonathan (Leigh). Jesse was previously married and is survived by his children Wade Lee, Michael (Michelle) Lee, Paul (Melissa) Lee of Waycross, GA, as well as David Lee, and Donna (David) Jennings of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Jesse has numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Dan (Betty) Lee of Columbia, SC.
He will be welcomed in to Heaven by his pre-deceased son, Steve Lee of Waycross, GA, and his 11 siblings and their families.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, March 19th, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Holy Apostle Anglican Church in Barnwell, SC. Visitation will be held after the service in the Church’s parish hall, and graveside will follow in the Holy Apostles Anglican Church Cemetery. Mole Funeral Home is assisting the family.
