Obituary for Joseph "Cannie" Still Sr.
Joseph C. “Cannie” Still Sr., 82, passed away on June 13th, 2025. He was born in Bamberg, SC on August 7th, 1942 to the late Magalene Carroll Still and Urel Toy Still. He served as a member of the SC National Guard in Barnwell, and worked as an engineer for the Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, J.C. “Jody” (Angela) Still Jr.; granddaughters Breanne Still, Melissa (Timothy) Still, Jessica (Dan) Ulmer, and Maci (Adam) Moore; grandson Johnathan Way; great-grandchildren Anthoy, Leo, Matt Still, Hannah and Bella Frickling, CJ Way, Maddix and Riggs Moore, and John Russell Ulmer.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Dianna Hanniford Still; his son, William “Rusty” Still; and his brothers, James Still, John Rice Still, Reden Still, Floyd Still, and LeRoy Still.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17th, 2025 from 3:30 – 4:30 PM at Mole Funeral Home, with graveside funeral services following at 5:00 PM in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Dean Deer will be officiating.
