Obituary for Julia Hall Sanders
Julia Ann Hall Sanders, the daughter of Robert Lee and Pauline Mitchell Hall, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 in Lexington, SC, she was born in Marianna, Florida, on December 22, 1943. With a love for music, Julia took piano and organ lessons at an early age and became the pianist and organist at her home church, the Grace United Methodist Church, while she was still in high school.

Upon graduation in 1961, Julia attended Riley Business School in nearby Dothan, Alabama. Afterwards, she returned home and took her first job in Marianna, where she worked for MR & R Trucking Company.
Following her marriage to Brad Byrum, Sr., Julia spent most of her life in South Carolina, living in Orangeburg, Summerville, and Barnwell. In Barnwell she was active in the operation of the H & R Block agency working alongside her husband William Fullbright. And, carrying through with her commitment to the church, she worked and supported Bethel Park United Methodist Church in Denmark as Chairman of the Care Committee, where she assisted in the church’s ministry to the elderly on a regular basis. She was also on the church council, and very active in her community.
Julia loved her flowers and gardening. She spent much of her time outdoors tending to her yard and landscape with her husband Jerry. Always a sports fan, she loved football and golf, especially her Clemson Tigers and going to the Masters with Jerry. Julia’s passion was for her family especially her grandchildren where she attended all their activities and events.

Julia was a generous and caring individual. She will be missed by family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Sanders of Barnwell, S. C.; her son, Brad (Me’Chelle) Byrum of Lexington, SC, step daughters, Debra (Steve) Garland of TN, Jerianne (Jody) Peele of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Patty (Dan) Biggerstaff of Mt. Pleasant; her 3 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, and 6 step great grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Florence Hall of Huntsville, Alabama; her sister and brother-in law, Barbara and Ted Bailey of Havana, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husbands, Brad Byrum, Sr, and William Fullbright
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 10:00AM in the Barnwell United Methodist Church Cemetery on Hagood Avenue, with Rev. Terry Roof officiating. The family will receive friends at Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell on Tuesday evening from 6-8PM. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Care Ministry of Bethel Park United Methodist Church, 25 Beech Ave., Denmark, SC 29042.
