Obituary for Macie Fickling Beasley
Macie Fickling Beasley, 88 wife of Leon Frampton Beasley, Jr. passed away, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at her home in Barnwell, SC.
She was born in Blackville, SC on August 5, 1931. She was the daughter of the late George K (Sr.) and Hazel Storne Fickling. Macie attended Blackville High School where she was an outstanding player on the girl’s basketball team. She was a member of Barnwell First Baptist church where for many years she was active in various social and ministry groups. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers and was a member of the Iris Garden Club in which she held various offices over the years. Macie was widely known as an outstanding cook and baker. Prior to her retirement, Macie worked as a teacher’s aid and library assistant in the Barnwell School District.
Funeral services will be held at Barnwell First Baptist Church on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 3:00PM with Rev. Jeffery Ray and Rev. Ken Catoe officiating. The family will receive friends and visitors from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Mole Funeral Home in Barnwell on Saturday, October 19, 2019. Mole Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Besides her husband of 67 years, she is survived by her sons, Barry L. Beasley (Jangie) of Blackville, Mark F. Beasley (Debbie) of Barnwell, and daughter Michelle Woodward of Elgin; granddaughter Lenzie Beasley Brant (Shawn), grandsons Frampie Beasley, Ethan Beasley, Jacob Beasley (Kaitlain), and Brenden Woodward and 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Julie Fickling Jowers (Lowell) of Barnwell, Mildred Fickling Pitts (Gary) of Foley, AL, Jeannine Fickling Coker (Greg) of Gulf Shores, AL, and brother George K. Fickling, Jr. (Debbie) of Blackville. She was predeceased by her sister Patricia Fickling Partain.
Pall bearers will be Ethan Beasley, Shawn Brant, Skipper Burney, David Burney, Coley Creech, Herman Keisler, and Pickens Williams, Jr.
The family would like to acknowledge with grateful appreciation caregivers, Edisto Home Care and Hospice, Circle of Love, and Amanda Frickling.
