Obituary for Mary Bradley Hogg Sanders
Barnwell, SC--Mary Bradley Hogg Sanders died April 29, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Her contagious smile and sense of humor live on through the many friends and family members whose lives she touched. Born in Barnwell, SC, on September 16, 1923, Mary was a daughter of the late John Corbett and Nora Owens Hogg. She lived in Barnwell, SC, most of her life before relocating to The Palms in Mount Pleasant, SC, in 2006. Mary was happiest when surrounded by her family. She leaves behind her daughter, Mary Linda Witherspoon (Mitch), two grandchildren, Mary Bradley Burke (Brian), Robert Mitchell Witherspoon, IV (Marisa), and a great grandchild, Robert Baxley Witherspoon, all of Mount Pleasant, SC. She was predeceased by her husband, Josh Baxley Sanders, to whom she was married almost 50 years, and her two sisters; Sarah Hogg Rountree and Johnnie Hogg Sanders. She also leaves behind a nephew and many nieces with whom she was always in contact. Mary graduated from Draughon's Business College in Augusta, GA. She worked at City Hall in Barnwell for many years where she enjoyed meeting and working with the public. Mary "never met a stranger" and her legacy of friendship will long be remembered. She was a lifelong member of Barnwell United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held at Mole Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015. The family will receive friends an hour before the funeral. A graveside service will follow at the family plot in Barnwell Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Barnwell Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
