Obituary for Mary Elinor Ayer Brant
Mary Elinor Ayer Brant found peace and rest on March 6, 2016 at the age of 92 at Harter Nursing Home in Fairfax, SC. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Lewis Green Ayer and Mrs. Welmer Kinard Ayer of Bamberg County. Mary E. Brant was the wife of the late Grover S. "Bee" Brant of Olar. She was the mother of 5 children, grandmother of 9, and great-grandmother of 23. Mrs. Brant was a member of Kearse Methodist Church. She was and active caretaker of many in the community and others in which she believed were in need. Mary was an excellent cook, loved gardening, flowers and fishing. Mary E. Brant leaves behind numerous other relatives and friends. Survivors include her children, Harold (Ann) Brant, Glen Brant, Jimmy (Dianne) Brant, and the late Roger Brant all of Olar, grandchildren include, Suzanne Brant of Barnwell, Eve (Jim) Lyle of Gaffney, SC, Adam (Lisa) Barr of springfield, SC, Shane Brant of Barnwell, Scott (Carlie) Brant of Olar, Tracey (Wesley) Harden of TN, Joey (Drew) Zorn of Olar, Kimberly (Marty) Space of Hanahan, SC, brothers and sisters, Sydney Ayer of Bamberg and Nina Mitchum of Olar. She was predeceased a daughter, Betty Ann Brant Barr, granddaughter, Missi Brant, sisters, Lula Morris, Juanita Bodiford, Nell Marie Fisher, and Elma Ruth Bodiford, and a brother Louis Martin Ayer. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 2:00PM in Mole Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Terry Gunnells officiating. Burial will follow in the Great Salkehatchie Cemetery in Ulmer, SC. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Tuesday evening at Mole Funeral Home.
