Obituary for Mary Frances Collins
Mary Frances Collins, 91, of Olar, South Carolina passed away peacefully on January 22, 2021.
The funeral will be held Monday, January 25, at 2:00 PM at Olar First Baptist Church Cemetary, which is located on Hull Street in Olar, South Carolina. There will be a viewing opportunity prior to the funeral from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mole Funeral Home in Barnwell, South Carolina. Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, the family kindly requests for attendees to maintain social distancing and wear masks if possible. All are welcome to visit with the family after the services. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mole Funeral Home. Flowers or memorials to Olar First Baptist Church are welcomed.
Frances was born in Baxley, Georgia to Henry and Luna Hunter on September 11, 1929. Frances, better known as Granny, had a passion for cooking, gardening, sewing, reading, studying God’s word, and music. She loved to watch birds and was well-known for lending a helping hand to anyone. She loved her family unconditionally and will always be remembered for her faithfulness, humility, relentlessness, and compassionate spirit.
In addition to her eternal commitment to her husband, children, and home, Frances was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Olar where she sang in the choir and served on the bereavement committee for many years. She loved the Lord Jesus and faithfully witnessed to many.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fleming Wright Collins, Sr., her daughter, Mary Vojtech, her parents, and eight of her ten siblings.
Frances is survived by her children and their spouses: Sue and Cliff Johnston, F.W. and Marie Collins, Janice and Riley Grubbs, Bob and Gwen Collins, Chris Collins, and son in law Sandy Vojtech. Her grandchildren: Angie (Lee) Shaffer, Amy (John) Bokman, Fleming (Terry) Collins, Jennifer (Chad) Manders, Ben (Katherine) Collins, Christy Collins, Bobby (Christina) Collins, Tracey Thomas, John (Grace) Johnston, Stephanie (David) Mahuron, Jessica (Brian) Bernascone, Leslie Grubbs, and Kimberly Collins. Her great-grandchildren: Joshua, Erik, and Hunter Stockman, Amanda Schafer, Parker and Hudson Johnston, Sam, Andrew, Rachel, and Aubry Collins, Taylor Collins, Chloe and Parker Mahuron, Oliva Bridges, Ava, Tristan and Gabe Bernascone, Maddox Manders, Jaiden Thomas, McKintley and Kylin Morgan, C.G. Saitz, Sheldon and Leighton Collins, and Alex Cobb. Great grandchild: Hadley Collins.
