Mary Kathryn “Kathy” Long, 65, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019 in the Aiken Regional Medical Center.
Kathy was born in Barnwell County on April 3, 1954. She was a daughter of the late Richmond and Kathryn Carroll Cheek. She was an active member of Mt. Arnon Baptist Church. She retired from Barnwell School District 45 after more than 25 years of service.
Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years Gene Long; daughter, Donna (Mark) Johnson of Statesboro Ga; granddaughters, Shelbie Marie Johnson and Kallie Elizabeth Johnson both of Statesboro Ga.; sisters Marvilea Wallace of North Augusta SC, Roxanne ( Andrew) Lott of Williston; Billie (Randy) Dobson and Lynn (Phil) Hair both of Barnwell; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday November 29, 2019 at 11 am in the Mt. Arnon Baptist Church of Allendale with Rev. Mike Catoe officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery at the airport. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Thursday at Mole Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Arnon Baptist Church.
