Obituary for Mary Voncile Oglesby Whitehead
Mary Voncile Oglesby Whitehead, 85, peacefully went to be with her Lord surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 17, 2021
Voncile was born in Hiltonia, GA on August 11, 1935. She was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Ida Lee Godbee Oglesby. She was a member of the Barnwell First Baptist Church and had formerly worked as a LSE at SRS and as a caregiver. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Barnwell First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 2:00PM until the hour of service, with Pastor David Turner, Pastor Kevin Rountree and Rev. Billy Vaughn by letter officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery by the Airport. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell is assisting the family. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be, Brian Whitehead, Ryan Whitehead, Brad Whitehead, Wade Jackson, Mark Donehue, and Chad Croft. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be, David Rosier, Terry Hiers, Marty Grubbs, and Pickens Williams.
She is survived by her loving husband, David Whitehead Sr. of the home, sons, Terry (Angie) Whitehead and Jerry (Sharon) Whitehead, daughter, Shirley (Wade) Jackson, daughter-in-law, Trina Sanders, grandchildren, Brian (Jamie) Whitehead, Ryan (Kristin) Whitehead, Brad (Ashley) Whitehead, Johnathan Smith, Anthony Smith, Dustin Smith, Tiffany Whitehead, April (Chad) Croft, Ashleigh (Mark) Donehue, and Megan (Chris) Clark, great grandchildren, Karson Whitehead, Drew Whitehead, Matthew Anderson, Ryles Whitehead, Ripp Whitehead, Sadie Grace Whitehead, Brantley Whitehead, Kenzie Whitehead, Ava Croft, Lawton Croft, Justin (Ashley) Leonard, Kali Stevenson, great great grandchild, Rowan Leonard. She was predeceased by daughters, Marsha Blalock and Susan Williams, a son and daughter-in-law David and Janice Whitehead Jr. a grandson, Dale Stevenson, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
