Obituary for Matthew Steven Renew
Matthew Steven Renew, 18, of Barnwell passed away July 14, 2018 after a tragic car accident.
Matthew was born on December 28, 1999 in Orangeburg SC and was a son of Steve and Stephanie Ponds Renew. He was a 2018 graduate of Barnwell High School. He had plans to continue his education in the nuclear and electrical field. Matthew was an employee of MAU at Orchid Paper Products Inc. Matthew loved the outdoors, He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to go boating and to water ski.
Most importantly, Matthew loved his friends and family. He always said “I love you” to all. Matthew has always said that his friends were his brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11 am in the Hagood Ave. Baptist Church with Rev. Carol Holladay and Rev. Scott Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery at the airport. The family will receive friends at Mole Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5pm until 8pm.
Survivors include his parents, Steve and Stephanie Ponds Renew and his brother, his pride and joy, Robert Renew; his maternal grandparents, Edward and Shirley Boyles Ponds; his aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, Sherry and Jeff Canfield (Alyssa and Katie); Sheila and Norman Kirkland (Kyle), Shannon and William Chavez (Isaac) and Tonya Renew, great aunt, Judy Ponds Kinard, Special grandparents, Mrs. Lottie Cook and Raleigh and Irene Feagin. He was predeceased by grandfather, Bobby Renew, Great grandparents, Frank and Louise Ponds, Edward and Dorothy Boyles, Cremmins and Carrie Beasley Renew and a cousin, Kirk Kirkland and great uncle, Clyde Kinard.
