It is with great sadness that the family of Matthew Shane Baxley announces his sudden passing on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the age of 31. Matthew was born in Barnwell, SC, on July 10, 1993. He was often regarded for having gentle, bright blue eyes, the best hugs, and a sweet nature. Matthew had diverse employment, including butchering at a deer processing facility and working at IGA, and was a cook at Huddle House. He loved hunting and fishing and also enjoyed cooking and grilling.
Matthew will be lovingly remembered by his father, Walter Shane Baxley (Denise); mother, Julie Folk; grandmother, Linda Still (Willis “Rock”); children, Madielyn Skye Baxley, Haelyn Raine Baxley, and Arielyn Layton Baxley; sister, Macy LeeAnna Baxley; step-sisters, Alee Hooper, Baylee Hooper, and Carlee Hooper; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Matthew was predeceased by his grandfather (paternal) Walter Baxley; and grandparents (maternal) Kenneth “Tunk” and Bonnie Folk.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 23rd, 2024 from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM at Mole Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow in the Mole Funeral Home Chapel at 2:30 PM, with Pastor Jamie Sheppard officiating. Graveside will be held in the Mt. Lebanon Christian Church Cemetery.
