McLeod “Mac” Halford, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 10, 2017 after a brave battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Mac was born on June 11, 1929 in the Long Branch section of Barnwell County. He was a son of the late Bellinger and Nettie Bell Morris Halford. He was a retired warehouse manager for Thomas and Howard Wholesale Grocery Co. He also retired from Reids Grocery Store. He also worked as a security guard at Clairiant Inc. He served on the Kline Town Council and retired from the Kline Volunteer Fire Dept. at the age of 80. He was a member and Deacon at the Kline Baptist Church. He was a member of the Allendale Masonic Lodge.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, July 13, 2017 in the Kline Baptist Church with Dr. Finley Limehouse officiating. Burial will follow in the Kline Cemetery with Masonic Rites accorded. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 5-7 pm at Mole Funeral Home.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Audrey Barker Halford of Kline; son, J. Cameron (Lisa) Halford of Rock Hill; daughters, Tara (Robert) Keel of Kline and Alice (Larry) Powell of Hilton Head; sisters, Frances (David) Durant of Barnwell, Burley (Henry) Rutland of Orangeburg and Muriel H. Linder of Barnwell; grandchildren,Susanah Keel-Arendt, Kristy Keel- Blackmon, Haley Powell, Molly Powell, Lawrence Powell, Lindsey Powell, Caroline Halford, Dawson Halford and Addison Halford; great granddaughter, Lola Powell. He was predeceased b y a brother, Russell Halford and a sister, Elma Halford Wood.
