Obituary for Mellie Mae Adkins Myrick
Mellie Mae Adkins Myrick, 91, widow of the late Joe A. Myrick III., passed away peacefully Friday, March 18, 2016 in Aiken, SC. Mrs. Myrick was born on September 25, 1924 in Orangeburg County, SC. She was the daughter of the late Adam and Bertha Clark Adkins. She was a member at Friendship Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 4:00PM in Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Marshall Still and Rev. John Nixon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Memorial may be made to Friendship Baptist Church Parking Lot Fund. 5801 Friendship Rd., Barnwell, SC 29812. Mole Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include her daughter Katie (Joe) Smith of Barnwell, son J.A. (Sandi) Zorn of Barnwell, sisters, Mary Weatherford of Cross, SC, Barbara Langston of Holly Hill, SC, and Geneva Fogle of Orangeburg, SC 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Patsy Vaigneur and brothers, Jasper, Melvin, Virgil, and Ed Adkins. Her special care givers, Mae Creech, Caroline Wilson, Rachael Price, Belva Price and Ema Brown, and a special friend, Cynthia Streater, and her special companion her Maltese Dusty.
