Obituary for Merrill J. Martin Sr.
Funeral services for Merrill J. Martin Sr. will be held at 4 pm Monday, October 14, 2013 in the Mole Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Barnwell Co. Memory Gardens on Reynolds Rd. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Mr. Martin was born in Gaffney SC., He was the son of the late Matathes Luther and Vera Mae Parris Martin. He Worked in several textile mills and retired as a plant manager. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a high priest and fill many church positions. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include two sons, Merrill J. (Jerry) Martin Jr. and his wife, Alice and Randall (Randy) Martin of Barnwell; brother, Tony Preston (Martha) Martin of Rockingham NC.; sister, Marilyn (Ralph) Page of Lehi, Utah; grandchildren, Melissa (Chip) Nolind, Merrill J. (Marty) Martin III and Tam Martin; great grandchildren, Jhett Martin, Will Nolind, Sterling Martin, Charlie Nolind and Landon Martin. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Evelyn Green Martin.
